A study conducted recently revealed that among practicing Christians 3% are foster parents. Another 31% have seriously considered fostering. And what about the 66%? If everyone of the remaining 66% committed to doing their part in supporting the ministry of foster parents we would see more of those who have seriously considered fostering become ready to step into their mission.
When we all see the foster care crisis as something the whole church community should be active in then we will see this crisis resolved. God has call the church to share the Gospel in practical ways by caring for vulnerable children and families.
If you are part of the 3% ... we are so thankful for you! We want to see you supported by prayer and practical wrap around support.
If you are part of the 31% ... we urge you to consider now is the time to step into your calling and allow your church community to wrap you with support.
If you are part of the 66% ... your role is to pray, and to be the hands and feet of Jesus through practical support: meals, household help, transportation, parents night out, material support and may other acts of service that make the burden easier to bear for foster and kinship families.
