The Best Gift of ChristmasIn one of our communities a young girl was being removed from her home three days before Christmas. The placement needed a twin bed and mattress. The request came from our Knox county agency through the CarePortal tool we use in Knox & Ashland. The bed and mattress was needed for a family in Richland county.
The FFM network of churches already operates in those counties and the Church Champions responded. Within 24 hours a donor volunteered to pay for a new bed, mattress and bedding. Two days before Christmas a lay leader sprang into action to make the delivery and a family was ready to take in this young girl. That's the true meaning of Christmas, meeting needs in Jesus Name!
If you share our ministry with others, give financially or volunteer, you had a hand in this best gift of Christmas. The growth of our ministry network allowed us to coordinate from Ashland across two additional counties. Vulnerable children and families receive the Love of God in tangible ways when the Body of Christ works together effectively. January is the time to turn over a new leaf. At FFM it is the time to enter 3 more counties!. Our January 8th Church Champion Clinic saw registrations from new counties: Delaware, Medina and Wayne, as well as attendees from Richland and Ashland.
Thank to McKenzie, our Regional Coordinator from Knox Co. for leading the training! Want to get your church involved? Our next Champion Clinic for lay leaders is April 2nd. Email us to receive information on registration. Attend an interest meeting to find out how you or your family can serve in foster care ministry. A no pressure, no commitment way to learn more about unique ways to serve. Our next interest meeting is at Crossroads Church on Tuesday, Feb. 15 from 6:30-7:30p. Refreshments will be available, childcare provided. REGISTER.

Praying this is the year you find the way you are wired to serve the needs of vulnerable children and families. Many hands make light work!
