Over 16,000 children in the state of Ohio are not home this July 4th. They bravely celebrate in foster homes, kinship (relative) homes and some in residential homes.
Our freedom was guaranteed by the sacrifice of many in the founding and preservation of our country. The healing of these vulnerable children will require sacrifice and love from our communities. It is through our service they will become free from the pain they have experienced in their young lives.
This July 4th we remember the sacrifice for our freedom as a nation. Would you pause, and thank God for the sacrifice of families, relatives and many others who are on the front lines making a home for children from hard places? In these homes may they find healing and freedom from the pain of their past.
Would you be willing to be one of those homes? Or would you be willing to serve one of those families? As it is said Freedom isn't free. It comes at a price. Freeing these children from the pain of their past comes at a sacrifice. It may cost you time, investment, relationship.
How is God calling you to give freedom to these children in our midst and introduce them to a loving Heavenly Father through Jesus his Son?
Enjoy your freedom, your family and your fireworks this 4th of July and do not forget to pray for those brave children and the families who are giving them a safe, healing home. How is God calling you to be brave and care for them?
