Best Gift of Christmas...a home for the holidays and the whole year through.

Dear Friends:                                                                          
I sit in my family room bathed in the soft lights twinkling from the tree as the nutcrackers peer down at me from the heights of the fireplace mantle. The smell of fresh evergreen fills the house. During this time of year we take extra time to adorn our homes to be ready to open the door to family and friends. There is no place like home for the holidays! Truly the best gift of Christmas is an open home and heart for others and most importantly, for Christ Jesus.
 
Do you realize that there are those who exercise this gift of hospitalityfaithfully the whole year through? Like a Joseph of old, they welcome a child not born of their flesh who needs a place to call home and a family to wrap their loving arms around them. In a moments notice, they willingly open the door of their home giving hospitality to children in need.
 
We celebrate these families, as well as the volunteers and churches who support them as a demonstration of God’s love extended toward us. Daily, Biblical hospitality is given as children are cared for in foster and kinship homes. Weekly, volunteers extend hospitality with a meal, transportation or child care and become foster friends of these children in our foster care system. 
 
Would you pray for us as we endeavor to mobilize and equip our churches to raise up foster families and support friends? Will your year end generosity extend a hand of hospitality to healing homes and support to children in foster care in our area?
 
As 2017 comes to a close we are praying for $2,000 in year end gifts to reach our goal of $5,000 in our HUGS campaign. Your gift of any amount will Help Us Give help and support to foster children and the foster and kinship families who provide a home for the holidays and beyond.
