How many HUGs have we received so far in October?As I sat at the Recovering Hope Event a community member gave me cash folded over and said, "Go hug a kid!" When I picked up the mail for Fostering Family a check had arrived from a family in town. Another 4 1/2 HUGs ($450 in gifts) have come in within the last week! Our total is up to $2,200. That makes 22 HUGs for the month of October so far. Have you given your hug yet?
As our numbers soar over 120 children in care your support is more important now than ever. In this past week alone we have been involved in several HUGs.
A reunited birth family is in need of continued support of a care team. A grandma and grandpa have taken in three more of their grandchildren, filling their home with six grandchildren as their own daughters battle drug addiction. A foster family just received three boys in placement and are in need of a care team. A foster family called ecstatic that they were just certified. We are praying for 28 more people to give a HUG of $100 each to help fund our services through the end of the year. Perhaps you can give $25 a week for 4 weeks or two gifts of $50 each. Maybe you will partner with others who share the gift of a HUG. Ask your church or Sunday School class to take an offering this month to give. Mail your gift or give securely online. Together let's HUG our children and families in need while sharing the love of Jesus. Keep an eye on your inbox in October for practical stories about how we HUG children and families in need.
