Our New Year's wish for you....foster hope and a future for a foster child

As we begin a new year, let's celebrate the impact of the first seven months of Fostering Family Ministries.

Recruiting Foster Families
This past year FFM has been able to contribute to an increase in foster families from 8 to 14 with a couple of more in the midst of training. We are thankful for the role we can play to encourage families to serve children in need in our community.

Recruiting & training volunteers
Our ministry has also trained a dozen volunteers who are ready to team up with current foster families this month and begin supporting them during their placements.

Supporting foster, adoptive and kinship families
Our parntership with Nick & Monica Stuart of FRAME ministries has enabled us to see them training as certified Parent Mentors with Empowered to Connect.  They are applying principles from ETC in  monthly support group which provides 1 hr of ongoing training credit for foster families.. Connected Parenting begins Jan. 5th for which our foster families will receive 18 hours of ongoing credit.

Community Financial Support
From the Samaritan Foundation, ACCF Women's fund to local church support from Bethel (Savannah), Grace and Trinity Lutheran we have been blessed with funding for the work we accomplished in 2016. We continue to look forward to additional partnerships as we move into the new year.

Equiping community partners and churches
As the director, I receved the Trust Based Relational Intervention Practitioner Certification this past fall which we will use to better equip all those who interact with children from hard places to be a healing influence in their lives. 

Where will you foster hope and a future for our foster children in 2017?
